Sarah Paulson Will Not Star in ‘AHS: 1984’

Sarah Paulson will not have a starring role in American Horror Story: 1984, Variety reports exclusively.

After having a guest role in the first season of AHS and a main role in the following seven, 1984 will be the first season of Horror Story since Murder House in which Paulson will not have a starring role.

“Variety has learned from sources that Paulson will not appear in a significant role in the FX anthology series’ upcoming ninth season”

This is likely due to the fact that she will in fact spend most of her Summer and Fall in Canada shooting Mrs America alongside Cate Blanchett, which is set to air next year also on FX. Also, she is fresh off shooting for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming Netflix original series, Ratched, which demanded six work heavy months.

However, according to reliable sources, it is likely that Paulson will guest star in the season, likely similar to how Angela Bassett made a cameo in the finale of Apocalypse.

American Horror Story: 1984 is set to air September 18th on FX and will star Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd as well as newcomer Gus Kenworthy, amongst unannounced others.
